The current year is 2007. With the rise of Lord Voldemort’s control over Wizarding Britain, a resistance is beginning to grow against the Death Eaters. Dubbed the Eternal Flame, it represents the phoenix's burning fortitude rising from the ashes, a light piercing the darkness. But despite this flicker of hope, things are tense. The streets are empty and quiet, and most witches and wizards keep to themselves, heads down, eyes averted as they do everything they can to avoid the attention of the Death Eaters and their roaming inferi. Those who are thought to be working against the Dark Lord are hunted for blood sport and executed. Times are dark, and desperation causes good men to do the unthinkable, but who will remain standing among the ashes?

At Slow Drift our members are storytellers, and our storytellers come first. We encourage complete freedom of creative expression, human-led storytelling, and character development.
We like to encourage our storytellers with rewards for excellent storytelling, character development, participation, and contribution. Each new season brings new challenges, and members are encouraged to participate in the challenge competition we hold during each season, as well!
We are a human-led storytelling group and reward real writing while discouraging the use of generative AI in posts and profiles.
