The land of Thiaran is a vast super-continent upon which five nations and countless cultures have thrived since time immemorial. From the frozen ice floes of Vidalaner, to the shimmering golden dunes of Assaria, and encompassing all the endless fertile pastures of the Zavan Plains, these lands have all sheltered under the guardianship of the Sekkaian Empire for three thousand years.

Dragons, the winged protectors of Sekkai, grew abundant and powerful under the rulership of their Empress. Bonded with human riders, they boasted a mastery of the magical elements and a lifespan of hundreds of years, and they brought the justice of this union to every corner of the empire.

But a rich kingdom will always inspire greed and jealousy.

A sickness that taints the bond between rider and dragon spread out from the west, produced on an island known only as Desolation. For the first time in millennia dragons became a foe of mankind, and the Celestial Empress lost her grip on sovereignty at the same time she lost her head.

Now the continent is embroiled in a land war that rages from coast to coast.

The Tainted Legion surges forward into the mainland to establish itself a new nation, seizing whatever territory they please.

The Sekkaian Empire struggles to shed its history as a conqueror and become a republic ruled by the people.

In this chaos of this power struggle some citizens of Thiaran seek to re-establish their independence.
Allying with powerful mages to form The Fractured, this new domain does not pay fealty to either Empire or Legion.

Welcome to The Last Island, a post apocalyptic survival site. It's 2050 and the world has been almost fully submerged in water due to Global warming and natural disasters.

On TLI, we foster friendship first and foremost, randomly assigning characters together for lookout or scavenging duty so that no-one feels they’re not a part of the site or story. We have a relaxed atmosphere with no activity checks, only sweeps every three months. Our discord is friendly and cosy and we accept and invite members (and characters) from all walks of life. The more diverse, the better!

In The Last Island, you are one of maybe a few thousand humans left alive, left to scavenge for food, to fight off predators, to build shelters and simply to survive. Are you a brave new settler? Are you a scavenger, scouring the shorelines for anything useful to trade? Or maybe you're a pirate, pillaging young settlements and taking what you want. You decide.

It’s the year 2023 and a lot has changed since the days of Harry Potter. Technology has arrived in the magical world and with it jobs that had never been heard of before are booming. The Weasley family has pulled off a Cinderella rags to riches story and developed magical vehicles for those who don’t want to, or can’t, apparate, don’t like Floo Powder or the environmental waste of portkeys.  Hogwarts is also now offering a three year University for a mix of classroom and field work in highly specialized fields such as Aurors, Hitwizards, St. Mungo’s Healers, and Hogwarts nurses and doctors to prepare them for the high stress and difficult careers they’ve chosen.

With the good comes the bad, or so it goes. It has been just over a year since the Enlightened revealed magic to the world in the worst way possible - through using it to cause death and destruction to both worlds. As if that wasn't bad enough they killed the former Minister for Magic along with his mistress and a number of high ranking magical and muggle officials live on television using magic, they attacked St Mungo's resulting in dozens of deaths and most recently they have brought Beauxbatons Academy of Magic to its knees forcing the students and staff to seek refuge at other magical schools with the majority choosing Hogwarts.

Witches, wizards and muggles alike are terrified and that fear is causing even people who have known each other their whole lives to turn on one another. Muggles are attacking anyone who is magical out of fear that they might be next while the Ministry and Guardians are doing their best to de-escalate things and keep everyone safe and with a number of Enlightened members killed or captured following the attack on St Mungo's it is only a matter of time before the people leading the group along with the other members are brought to justice. Who is among the Enlightened? Is it the guy in the office next to you? Your best friend? Is it you? Are you seeking to catch the wrongdoers or are you simply trying to stay alive and safe?

A wise old man once said happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light. With that I only say: Lumos.
