Avestral Faction Lore
Avestral Factions
Midlands
The Midlands is formally known as the “forgotten realms” this is essentially the only faction based on “earth.” They are considered guardians of ancient and forbidden knowledge. This is the realm that is the source of many rumors flying through the Sea and Sky factions. Characters from the Midlands are hostile towards outsiders, this includes anyone who does not come from the Midlands whether it is because they have popped into existence there, or are from the Sea/Sky factions. Many Midland members are born here. Many take occupations of preserving the forgotten and lost artifacts of “The Old World.” There are rumors that Avestral used to be a very different place. They are known to be secretive, violent, guardians.
Sea (Lumeria)
The Sea Faction is known to be highly reflective of the environment they live in. Members of this faction are highly resilient and versatile to adapt to the tumultuous world they live in. They are regarded as turbulent, wild, and powerful like their home. Members of this faction will be some sort of hybrid Hippocampi or Kelpie or may use magic to fit in amongst the sea-based equine. You are also free to come up with an aquatic species to use, just write the info down so others might be able to join too. Members of this faction are not known to publicly fraternize with anyone from the Sky faction. The relationship with the Sky faction is considered very strained and any of their supporters in the Sea faction are generally regarded poorly. They are considered highly inflexible and are not known for their tolerance or mercy. Many can and often do hold grudges that last centuries and are passed down through lineage.
Sky (Avestros)
The Sky Faction is known to be the most “carefree” of the factions, they pride themselves on what they call a utopian society. Members of the Sky faction blatantly ignore the glaring problems of their homeland such as the fact that it is only a utopia for those who are very powerful and very wealthy. There exist two sects of life here, the powerful, and those who have nothing. There is no in-between and these worlds rarely collide. At least half of the population would claim this faction to be a dystopia. Dissent and strife are very common under the thumb of delusional rulers who deny the problems of their homes. They do not believe that the members of their faction want for anything, and are blind to the problems they have created.
