[center]What if the Doom of Valyria never happened?

Magic itself is at its peak, blossoming everywhere in the form of dragons and sorcery. The Valyrian Freehold has never been stronger, masters of most of western Essos with power unparalleled. Yet, its daughter cities are chafing against its rule, and whispers of rebellion are making their way across the Free Cities. They speak of throwing off the Freehold’s shackles and truly be Free. In turn, Valyria has turned its mighty eye to its disobedient daughters, with the threat of dragonfire always in the wings.

In Westeros, the Seven Kingdoms are still separate, each struggling against each other for land and prestige. Alliances are forged and battles rage, with each kingdom striving to maintain their power. These squabbles are all they have known for a thousand years, since the coming of the Andals and their wars against the First Men. Yet, they, too, strive for peace and prosperity and the freedom that comes with it.

However, as tumultuous as these times may be, they might be the calm before the storm.

The fires of the Fourteen Flames, the chain of volcanoes in the Valyrian Peninsula, are becoming more difficult to control, while tales of white walkers keep drifting down from the upper reaches of Westeros. Across the known world, soothsayers and seers have been receiving troubling visions of catastrophe and destruction, but no one has answers on how to combat the calamity that is sure to follow.

The world is prophesied to end in ice and fire, but is the end coming sooner than we think?
