In Britain, a wainscot society exists alongside the mundane reality. Once, anyone could learn magic if they had the means to do so, but since Concealment was established in the middle ages, that is no longer the case.

There have always been tensions in the magical world, and these exploded in the Restorationist Wars, which ended in the late nineties. However, with magical creatures pushing for greater legal recognitions coinciding with the escape of several Restorationists from Dún Bhaloir prison these tensions are rising once again.
